Biber takes over Kukko Helles in Sweden

Biber Beverage is taking over Swedish representation and supply of Kukko Helles, brewed by Finland’s Laitilan Wirvoitusjuomatehdas. The supplier transfer takes effect today, bringing an established Swedish beer listing into Biber’s portfolio.

Based in Laitila in southwestern Finland, the independent brewery has been making drinks since 1995. Kukko Helles is a gluten-free pale lager brewed with pale barley malts and German Magnum and Perle hops. The Swedish expression is 4.7% ABV and comes in a 330 ml can.

“Beer needs a different commercial calculation from spirits. Freight, packaging and stock turnover carry a lot of weight in the price of a can. With Kukko Helles, the economics have to work for the brewery at realistic Swedish volumes.”

Biber will work directly with the brewery on its Swedish business, including coordination with Systembolaget, product information and supply. The immediate focus is the transition of the existing listing, followed by work to develop Kukko Helles’ presence in the Swedish market.
