Biber takes over Imkergut’s Swedish mead business

Biber Beverage is taking over the Swedish business for Imkergut mead following its acquisition from Umida. From today, Biber assumes responsibility as the supplier to Systembolaget, adding an established mead product to its portfolio.

Imkergut is the brand of Cum Natura, a honey and bee-products specialist based in Bühl in Germany’s Black Forest. The business grew out of the Kumm family’s beekeeping tradition, which reaches back to 1904. That background gives the mead a direct connection to a producer whose work centres on honey and the products of the hive.

The transaction concerns the Swedish commercial business for Imkergut mead. Biber’s role is to manage the product’s import, distribution and continued development in Sweden, with the supplier transition taking effect on 1 April.

With Imkergut, we are also taking responsibility for developing an existing Swedish business. We need to plan for both the handover and the years that follow.”
