Biber secures a 10,000-bottle release for Carlo Alberto Artiglio

Carlo Alberto’s Artiglio aromatic bitter launches in Systembolaget’s temporary assortment today, following a successful tender submission by Biber Beverage. The 10,000-bottle release brings the Italian bitter to Swedish customers after its selection in Systembolaget’s blind tasting.

“We look closely at the fit between the tender, the product and the volume. Aromatic bitters are used a few drops at a time, so 10,000 bottles is a substantial release. That makes the product’s role in cocktails an important part of the launch.”

Henric Berntson · Biber Beverage

Carlo Alberto is part of Compagnia dei Caraibi, based in the Turin area of northern Italy. Artiglio draws on the region’s tradition of botanical spirits and a recipe whose history reaches back to an apothecary in Valchiusella in 1780. Its eight botanicals include bitter orange, bay leaf, mint, rosemary, cinnamon and clove.

Used in small quantities to add aroma and depth to cocktails, Artiglio brings a distinct Italian expression to the aromatic bitters category. Biber has worked with the producer on the Swedish tender and launch, taking the product from selection to today’s retail launch.
