- At least 6 months in oak barrels; no chips or staves. Varietal, origin-typical berry and spice character.
- EU organic or Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand certification required; certificate within 3 days of winning and certification shown on packaging.
- Producer must be an estate in the offered origin; one product per producer.
